Image-Based Listings, Fast Browsing and Easier Registration

Published by admin on Jun 22nd, 2008

We rolled out several new enhancements to the site that are a direct result of the feedback we’ve been receiving from our community of Sellers and Buyers. As always, please feel free to email me directly if you have any questions, ideas or suggestions on how we can improve Shopflick. You can reach me at Dan@Shopflick.com.

Image-Based Listings

This is a major change for us! Once you upload your basic Store video, you can now add image Listings for as many Items as you want. Essentially, if you have a product shot that is a jpg or a gif, you can now create a Listing on Shopflick. And since it’s free to add items to your store, you can create as many Listing as you have product shots for.

We’ve been experimenting with image-based Listings on the site and are happy to open them up to our community of Sellers. Here’s an example of an Image Listing from our friends at The Battalion. Check out The Battalion Valdemar Top.

The process to create an Image Listing is even easier than uploading a video. Simply enter your Listing sales information, upload your picture and then review & publish your Listing. We just launched this a few days ago, so please send me feedback (Dan@Shopflick.com) as you begin using the new tool. In the near future we’ll be launching several new image enhancements: image magnification, high-res images, and image slide shows that you can send to friends and embed in your myspace, facebook page or blog.

Fast Browsing

One of our ongoing areas of focus is to continuously improve your ability to browse all of our products. With that in mind we launched a browsable carousel on the Homepage and Shop Page to help you quickly scroll through dozens of Listings. This is the tip of the iceberg for us as we’re planning on launching several new browsing tools throughout the summer.

Registration

We received feedback from several of our members who mentioned that our Registration Page was too long and kind of confusing. We’ve improved the situation by reducing the number of required fields and by providing helpful tool tips throughout the process.

As I mentioned at the beginning of the post, We’ve been able to launch all of our fixes and site improvements because of the incredible feedback we’ve been receiving from the community. We know we have lots of work to do to make Shopflick an exceptional shopping destination, but we’re working our tails off to make it happen.

Thanks again for all of your support and encouragement!
